Firstly, I'd like to welcome you guys to PFA Studios and to our very first podcast of Espresso Yourself. We're very honored to have you, Jennifer and Luca, here with us to talk about all things fashion and Jacob Cohen. Firstly, I'd like to ask you to introduce yourself.

Jennifer: I'm the owner of Jacob Cohen, and my role is the President and Creative Director of Jacob Cohen. Luca is the CEO. Jacob Cohen is 100% made in Italy brand, and it was born in 2003 as the first luxury denim brand. The brand was actually born in 1985, and it was born as the first luxury brand in those years. The father of my first husband that created the brand in 1985, created, as I said, the first luxury denim brand. And then his son, Nick, in 2003, put into the market the first slim fit jean denim. And his great idea has been not only to have a luxury denim, but also to sell it in proper boutiques where usually you could see a handmade blazer rather than the best quality Cashmere brands. So this idea has been winning besides the fact of having a very comfortable denim with the best fabrics.

What are the milestones you reached that you're most proud of?

Jennifer: The biggest milestone has been last year when we bought the company, we had a license and we bought it, so now it's all ours. And from the warehouse to the production to the sell-through, it's all ours. So finally we can decide what we want to do 360 degrees. This has been the biggest milestone.

You have this - I've read, "Go to bed with a dream and wake up with a purpose."

Jennifer: Yeah, it's sawn in every jean, in every pants. There's a poem also in all our blazers. It's inside, it's a poem that Nick did at the beginning, and I never knew if he actually got it from somewhere. I like thinking that he did it. He truly believed in it because we all have dreams, and it's very important. I always say that to my kids, You have to dream in your life, but let the dream become true. So go to bed with a dream. Yes, do dream, but then wake up with a purpose. Wake up knowing that you have to do something to obtain that dream. This has been my mantra.

You have your first place that is your home, your family. You have a second place that is work. Do you have a third place where you go to to unwind, relax, or have fun? What is your third place?

Luca: For me, it's very easy. When I'm worried about something or when I have to think more than two minutes, so it becomes heavy thinking, I like to go to the lake, to my lake. I come from the Garda Lake. For me, water is so important. When I'm there, this is my third place because I come from a family of fishermen, because my grandfather was a fisherman. And so I remember me when I was with him in the boat. For me, that was a dream. And when I have something, I have to see water and a lake more than the sea. I love lakes. I don't know why, but it comes from my beginning.

Jennifer: I believe that we need to be grateful for whatever we have. And the biggest thing we have, it's nature. So I really find myself very well, and I slow down when I'm in nature. It does not happen very often because we live in Milan, but it really slows down the pace and it makes you understand what's really important.

From what I've seen, nature is also a really important part with Jacob Cohen, with the pictures. Is that right?

Jennifer: Yes. Well, the Jacob Cohen client, it's a client that travels. It's a client that understands the value of life. If you see the wealthiest people, they believe that the number one most important thing is time. You cannot buy time, and you cannot buy nature. Our clients happen to appreciate a lot. Being staying with nature. So yes, that's why in many of our RDVs and social campaigns, we like to film our representatives in with nature.

What was your highlight of this day today with us at PFA?

Jennifer: Well first of all, in my case, I've seen the pictures of this amazing place, so I thought I knew it. But just being here is just amazing. What you guys have reached and have done here, it's incredible. It's very innovative. It's something that at the moment seems far away from Switzerland, seems far away even from other countries that can be thought of being more modern. So really congratulations because it's an incredible space, a mix of cultures, a mix of businesses and works and thoughts. I think this could be something enlightening for many people, really. And for us as Jacob Cohen, we said today that a space like this demonstrates how to upgrade something. In our case, it helps to upgrade our brand and it helps to upgrade the way of thinking and of living.

Luca: I mean, Jennifer said everything, but the one small thing that I wanted to say, the good thing that when you come in, you feel like home. That's the way. Because you feel relaxed, you feel like home, you don't feel uncomfortable. Because the first thing that when you go to a closed space, the thing is how you feel it. Here, you feel like home, so I think you feel good.
